This is from the page of an IDP (internally displaced person) from the city of Bila Tserkva who knows what captivity and torture are 😭.

‘We are IDPs.

It would seem that it is impossible to shrug us off, but it is also difficult to live with us We will indeed be a serious issue for a very long time We have been deprived of the most valuable thing we had, and therefore we hardly recognise ourselves in our own reflection. We have no home!

This is from the page of an IDP (internally displaced person) from the city of Bila Tserkva who knows what captivity and torture are 😭.

We don't have a home anymore!

When we realised this, something got broken inside us, and that's why we often look like walking confusions.

Somewhere we misheard, misunderstood, took a wrong turn, didn't find the right street

It's tough to interact with us, but even we don't know what to do now

We are weird because we have lost everything.

You should have seen us sobbing over the old jackets and trousers that arrived in crumpled parcels

In our yesteryear, we proudly said that we would not wear winter jackets for more than one season, and in our new life we unpack them with trembling hands and suddenly bury our faces in the folds because our things smell like home

You haven't the faintest idea what it means to smell the scent of the past that no longer exists

Even those who have succeeded in their new place lack the most important thing - the foundation

We are like flowers that have been uprooted from the old earth and forgotten to be replanted

Like flowers for sale where the stems with roots have been dug up with clumps of earth stuck to them

They are usually put in a bag with water and left waiting for a new owner

We are grateful for your hospitality and care

But the fragments of our homeland that have been preserved in our souls do not allow us to find happiness in a new place, because it so happened that we cannot be happy anywhere but in our native land

It is difficult for you to understand how we feel (and it is good that you cannot be in our shoes!). You think we are being naughty... Just remember that this is our common WORLD
